Fabinho talked about Stefan Bajcetic this week – and what the player is like in Liverpool training. The teenager scored on Boxing Day.

Stefan Bajcetic came out of Liverpool’s 3-1 win over Aston Villa with a fiercely strengthened reputation. After all, he scored the third goal.

The Spaniard came off the bench and showed fantastic composure to finish, wrapping up the points for Liverpool. No wonder Jurgen Klopp was so thrilled after the game. Here is an 18-year-old who shows no fear at the top level.

Andy Robertson also talked up Bajcetic after Liverpool’s win – and he wasn’t even the last of it. Fabinho, too, had some great things to say about the teenager.

“I think I can talk a little bit about Stefan, since the beginning of the season, he’s someone who’s put in hard work in training and when he gets the opportunity to play he tries his best,” Fabinho told Amazon Prime Video.

“He’s someone who really listens when we speak to them or Pep and Vito with the young players.”

Stefan Bajcetic impresses in Liverpool training

Bajcetic went into pre-season with a small reputation as a youngster to watch in Liverpool’s academy. Six months later, he looks like the future in midfield.

And this is a player who arrived as a centre-back from Celta Vigo. Liverpool quickly turned him into a defensive midfielder and Klopp tried him as an out-and-out centre-midfielder against Villa.

The fact that this former centre-back showed such composure to score in the Premier League is remarkable. It still feels like the beginning, too, as Bajcetic is only going to get better and better. Especially as he learns yet another new position.

Liverpool have a special one here, then. He ticks every single box you’d want from a teenager starting out at senior level. Everyone should expect to see plenty more of Bajcetic before the season is out.
