Report: Arsenal now join Liverpool in the race to sign Napoli winger Khvicha Kvaratskhelia

Arsenal have now joined Liverpool in the race to sign Napoli winger Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, according to 90min.

As per the report, the Gunners are keen to land the 21-year-old at the Emirates.

This creates strong competition for the Reds, who CalcioMercato have credited an interest to in recent weeks.

According to 90min, Arsenal are among the clubs monitoring the Georgia international.

However, it is said that Napoli have made him unavailable for transfer. As a result, it is expected that it would take in excess of £100m to pry him away from the Serie A outfit.

Arsenal set to rival Liverpool for Kvaratskhelia

At just 21 years old, the attacker has burst onto the European scene for Napoli this season.

Having only arrived in Naples last summer in a deal worth £9m, Kvaratskhelia has sensationally bagged nine goals and 12 assists in 20 appearances for the club.

The youngster even produced an assist as the Italian club dominated the Reds 4-1 in the Champions League this term, impressing Jurgen Klopp.

For the Georgia national team, he has already amassed ten goals in 19 appearances. Subsequently, he has been hailed for his ‘extraordinary’ performances by the Italian embassy in his native country.

Playing on football’s biggest stage doesn’t seem to phase Kvaratskhelia, who has made an instant impact since joining Napoli last year.

Having impressed the legendary Zlatan Ibrahimovic, it is clear just how talented the youngster is.

Therefore, Liverpool should do all they can to convince the player to make the move to Anfield, rather than the Emirates.
