Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson has admitted that he and his teammates are feeling ‘low’ after losing against Brighton.
The Reds succumbed to a second Premier League loss in a row on Saturday afternoon, beaten 3-0 on the South Coast. It’s a result that leaves Liverpool eighth in the Premier League table.
Speaking to Premier League Productions via BBC Sport after the game, Henderson was asked how the feeling is in the Liverpool dressing room.
“It’s not good. We’re pretty low on confidence,” said the skipper. “The energy level is low. Everything. We can’t feel sorry for ourselves. We have to keep fighting and hopefully we can change it sooner rather than later.”

More pain on the way for Liverpool
Listening to Henderson, it’s hard to see how Liverpool can bounce back midweek against Wolves.
Julen Lopetegui’s will side have their tails up after a big win over West Ham United today. Furthermore, they also feel a burning sense of injustice at being denied a win at Anfield by a referee’s decision last week.
Faced with such fire in the belly, it’s impossible to imagine this current Liverpool side reacting in any other way than rolling over.
At one time, that would have felt counter-intuitive. No matter the size of the game or the opposition, Liverpool would approach things in the same way – full of fight, hunger and determination.

At present, those three words perhaps only describe one player in the Reds squad. That that player is 17-year-old Ben Doak should be a cause of shame to each and every one of Liverpool’s senior team.
As Henderson says though, the Reds can’t afford to feel sorry for themselves.
But unfortunately, those words of wisdom look to have been spoken months too late. Liverpool have been feeling sorry for themselves since the first day of the season.
Feeling sorry that they missed out on the two biggest trophies by the smallest of margins last season. Upset at having to play every three or four days. It’s time for that to end. If not, then it’ll be far from the last time Henderson and co are left with this sinking feeling.
