Brighton & Hove Albion forward Leandro Trossard looks set to miss tomorrow’s game against Liverpool.
The forward bagged himself a hat-trick at Anfield when the teams met earlier this season. But now, according to The Daily Mail, Trossard is a ‘major doubt’ to attempt to repeat the trick.
The Belgian has reportedly been training by himself as he looks to secure a move away from the Amex. With Tottenham said to be ‘monitoring’ his player, manager Roberto De Zerbi is claimed to have ‘concerns over Trossard’s attitude.’
As a result, De Zerbi reportedly made the decision to banish the 28-year-old to train alone.
Liverpool say no to Trossard
If reports are to be believed, then Spurs aren’t the only club in with a shout of signing Trossard. Liverpool too are claimed to have been offered the chance to bring him to Anfield.
However, as per journalist Ben Jacobs, the Reds have actively declined that option [Last Word on Spurs].
In fact, it’s claimed that Liverpool actually became ‘irritated’ by the behaviour of Trossard’s agent during some transfer discussions.
As a result, it seems that the Belgium international definitely won’t be moving to Merseyside anytime soon.
That won’t upset too many Liverpool fans. Although it would be nice to not have to face Trossard.
The Reds are actually his favourite team to play against. Having bagged five times in seven games against them, the forward hasn’t found the net against anyone as frequently as he has against Liverpool. His form against Jurgen Klopp’s side justifies the ‘unreal’ tag he’s earned from Rio Ferdinand.
So, perhaps this little nugget of news is actually a positive one for Klopp ahead of tomorrow’s game.
With Brighton in-form and Liverpool looking wobbly, they may need all the help they can get. Still, with quality throughout the squad, the Seagulls will no doubt find a solution to missing their top scorer.
