Liverpool are now eyeing a move for Borussia Monchengladbach midfielder Manu Kone, according to Sport Bild journalist Christian Falk.
Taking to his transfer column for CaughtOffside, the Bundesliga insider revealed the Reds are currently ‘watching’ the 21-year-old Frenchman.
Gladbach have conceded to the fact that they will lose Kone in the summer, unless an opportunity to retain him emerges.

It is claimed that Newcastle United were previously very interested in the youngster, whereas Paris Saint-Germain are now keeping tabs on the player.
According to a previous report from Bild, the German club have placed a £39m price-tag on the U21 France international.
Liverpool now eyeing move for Kone
A whole host of midfielders have been touted with Liverpool moves this month, with the side in desperate need of luring additions to Anfield.
Whilst the likes of Jude Bellingham and Matheus Nunes have been rumours for the summer, the Reds need new midfielders now.
As a result, a vast majority of reports recently have turned their attention to Brighton’s Moises Caicedo.
However, with that move looking somewhat unlikely, it appears the Merseyside outfit have identied Kone as a solid alternative.

Statically, the 21-year-old actually compares very closely to the Seagulls starlet, but he is valued at 2/3rd’s of Caicedo’s price.
With time running out in the January window, Liverpool must act quickly if they are to bring in a midfield signing.
Therefore, if a move for Caicedo is completely off the table, Kone appears to be a fantastic alternative.
