Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp was spotted wearing something which may annoy John Henry and Fenway Sports Group.

The Reds boss was watching on at the Kirkby Academy this afternoon as the U21’s took on Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League 2.

Fresh from making his FA Cup debut last night, Ben Doak started for the side alongside first-team midfielder Curtis Jones and defender Calvin Ramsay.

However, despite his unexpected presence at the game, Klopp caught people’s attention for an entirely different reason.

Ironically, he was pictured wearing a New York Yankees hat.

This was to the amusement of the Liverpool fanbase on Twitter, as it was pointed out that the Yankees are fierce competitors and bitter rivals to FSG’s own MLB team, the Boston Red Sox.

Hilariously, fans suggested that the Reds manager was demonstrating that he is ‘FSG OUT’, whilst others laughed off this far-fetched conclusion.

Either way, John Henry won’t be too happy seeing Klopp supporting his team’s rivals.

Following Liverpool’s disappointing 2-2 draw in the FA Cup with Wolves last night, Klopp still made sure to make the U21’s’ game today.

17-year-old Doak would have likely impressed; having come on as a substitute for the first-team the evening before, he then lined up for Barry Lewtas’ side the following day.

Jones played the first-half of the match in a bid to help him return to fitness, so hopefully he will be back up to speed and ready to play for the senior side again soon.

With a big problem clearly evident in the middle of the park, maybe Klopp was looking for a midfield player to call-up to his squad.

FSG seriously need to put their hands in their pockets and sign a number of additions this month.

Klopp should do all he can to convince the owners to bring in a few fresh faces, made imperative by the tired legs on show against Wolves yesterday.

Hopefully the German didn’t upset Henry too much, as additions will be crucial to Liverpool’s season – and we will need all the money we can get.
