Liverpool right-back Trent Alexander-Arnold has claimed Real Madrid winger Eden Hazard is the toughest opponent he has ever faced.
As shared by the official UEFA Champions League Twitter account ahead of the Reds’ last-16 clashes against Los Blancos, the 24-year-old has said that the former Chelsea star was extremely difficult to defend against in the Premier League.

“Toughest opponent I’ve ever faced? Eden Hazard,” Alexander-Arnold asserted.
“Speed, agility, awareness, his intelligence on and off the ball is just unreal.”
Trent says Hazard is the toughest
When thinking of Hazard’s time at Chelsea, we all picture that incredible goal he scored against Liverpool in the Carabao Cup.
Whilst Alexander-Arnold wasn’t playing that game, it is easy to see where the right-back is coming from when speaking about wingers who are extremely difficult to defend against.
However, if you were now going to match-up the Liverpool full-back and the 31-year-old Madridista, the Scouser is likely to come out on top.

The England international has certainly improved as an out-and-out defender. For example, in the recent game against Leicester, the 24-year-old won six duels, three tackles and three interceptions. As a result, he was awarded Player of the Match.
Although Hazard was once hailed by Jamie Carragher as an ‘absolute superstar’ and as ‘the best player in the Premier League’, the Belgian is no longer anywhere near this level.
Therefore, this will provide Alexander-Arnold with a certain level of confidence, as the Reds prepare for the forthcoming Champions League tie against Madrid.
