Brighton midfielder and Argentina World Cup winner Alexis Mac Allister has now addressed his future, following reported interest from Liverpool.
According to La Repubblica, the Reds have set their sights on the 24-year-old, who was a standout for Lionel Scaloni’s side out in Qatar.
The report claims that whilst Jurgen Klopp and his team are keen on the Seagulls star, they will find competition from Benfica and Juventus, who are also interested in a potential deal.

Addressing his future in an interview with Albion TV on Monday, Mac Allister spoke of his commitment to the south-coast outfit.
“I try not to read too much [speculation],” he said.
“I always say I am happy here, I don’t have any rush to leave.
“I feel really good, I’m really grateful with this club, my teammates and all the people who work here. I’m just focused on the next game and this club.
“It was a good World Cup for this club and for the players who went to the World Cup.”
Mac Allister remains committed to Brighton
Although Mac Allister had started to impress in the Premier League this season, it was the World Cup which catapulted him into the limelight.
Having been benched for the embarrassing 2-1 defeat to Saudi Arabia, the midfielder went on to start in every subsequent game during Argentina’s illustrious run. He even assisted Angel Di Maria in the final against France as his side went 2-0 up in the first-half.
Brighton manager Roberto De Zerbi was incredibly proud of the 24-year-old’s displays out in Qatar. He even told the media that he thought Mac Allister was ‘one of the best players at the tournament’.

As clearly depicted, Liverpool are in desperate need of midfield additions. Whilst the likes of Jude Bellingham and Enzo Fernandez are highly coveted options, Mac Allister could be a strong signing to make going forward.
As a holding midfielder, the Argentine has incredibly bagged five goals in 14 Premier League appearances this season.
Having clearly become accustomed to the English top-flight, the World Cup winner could make an immediate impact at Anfield.
Therefore, Mac Allister’s comments will come as a blow to the Reds, as they need a new midfielder as soon as physically possible.
