Jurgen Klopp simply ‘loved’ one moment from Liverpool vs Aston Villa tonight. The boss was beaming as he talked about it.
Jurgen Klopp couldn’t really have loved Liverpool’s third goal tonight any more. The Reds saw off Aston Villa 3-1 at Villa Park, having led 2-0 at half-time.
The first half was fantastic from Liverpool. Mohamed Salah and Virgil van Dijk put them ahead, allowing them to coast into the break. Unfortunately, Ollie Watkins managed to answer in the second half, putting the visitors under real pressure.
Then Darwin Nunez finally had things go his way. The Uruguayan pushed forward with the ball, overpowering players on the halfway line. He raced into the box, pulled it back and the loose ball fell to substitute Stefan Bajcetic.
The Spaniard somehow had the composure to take a touch before firing home. A first Premier League goal for the 18-year-old – who looked fantastic here.
Klopp was beaming after the game as he talked about the goal with Amazon Prime. The boss saw exactly what he wants from his side.
“The situation on the third goal – I love it so much,” said Klopp. “How Darwin takes the ball down and then the pass back and then Stefan finishes! Incredible. An incredible situation.”

We loved it, too. It was this Liverpool side at its best, with pace and overwhelming running forcing a goal here. Perfection.
The fact that Nunez – a new addition – and Bajcetic – a teenager – made it happen is just even better. The future looked incredibly bright with that moment and no wonder Klopp loved it so much.
Nunez and Bajcetic were arguably the two most notable players coming out of this game. The striker dominated the match and the youngster made a name for himself – surely forcing his way to more minutes in the process.
