Steven Gerrard has shared a photo of a Liverpool-themed mural painted on his son’s bedroom wall.
Taking to Instagram, the Liverpool legend shared a snap of the huge painting, which features Luis Diaz, Trent Alexander-Arnold and Mohamed Salah.
“Merry Christmas,” wrote Gerrard, sitting on the end of the bed with his son, Lio.
A cushion featuring ‘Alexander-Arnold 66’ is also spotted on the picture. We’re assuming this is for Lio’s benefit, but maybe this is just where Stevie comes to relax. He does love the Reds after all!
Time for Gerrard to return to his roots
Following Gerrard’s sacking at Aston Villa earlier this season, how many Liverpool fans would take him back at Anfield right now?
He may not be seen as the natural successor to Jurgen Klopp that he once was, but it’d be great to see him involved in some capacity.
It may be that the 42-year-old now decides that management isn’t for him. Things got rough at Villa and Stevie started to look decidedly old school in his approach.
As a result, perhaps he should return home.
With the race to sign Jude Bellingham now reaching boiling point, maybe bringing Gerrard back to the club could be the trump card Liverpool need.
The Reds icon is famously Bellingham’s greatest inspiration. If Liverpool could perhaps bring him on-board Klopp’s coaching staff, how could the Borussia Dortmund man then resist?
It could be perceived as being a step down for the fiercely competitive Gerrard. But as he continues to learn his trade in the coaching world, it could be a move that stands to benefit everyone.
And, instead of merely staring at the Liverpool lads on his wall, young Lio could meet them up close and in person. Come on, Stevie, you know it makes sense!
