Brighton & Hove Albion midfielder Moises Caicedo would be keen on a move to Liverpool in January.
That’s according to journalist Pete O’Rourke. Speaking to Give Me Sport, O’Rourke suggested that the Ecuadorian would be open to a winter move, but Brighton won’t let him go on the cheap.
“It’d be a big fee if Brighton were to consider selling him [Caicedo] in January,” said the journalist. “I’m sure if Liverpool and Chelsea do firm up their interest in Caicedo, it’s a move that maybe the player will be interested in, but it would have to be on Brighton’s terms.”
Liverpool are rumoured to be weighing up a move for the 21-year-old, with his World Cup performances still fresh in the memory.

Caicedo still an option for Liverpool
Caicedo is reportedly high on Liverpool’s list as they search for midfield reinforcements next year. As per Sky Sports, both the Reds and Chelsea are vying to land the youngster.
From the player’s point of view, why would that not be of interest to him? Brighton are an excellent side doing very good things, but Liverpool is still a massive step up.
With places up for grabs in the Reds midfield, Caicedo could be part of a new wave of midfield talent at Anfield.
For a young player who is making his mark in the Premier League, that would surely be a dream come true.

From Liverpool’s viewpoint, there will possibly be cheaper alternatives available, though. Brighton are notorious for their hard-nosed negotiating style, as some of Liverpool’s top six rivals have found out.
If they are to part with Caicedo, you can bet that it’ll be on their terms. As it should be, really. But that doesn’t mean Liverpool have to play ball with them.
Refuse to do so and the Reds could lose out on one of the best young players of the World Cup. But when the alternatives are players like Enzo Fernandez and Jude Bellingham, we can live with that.
Caicedo may be ‘exceptional,’ but those two are, arguably, even better.
