Liverpool are now the priority for any Enzo Fernández transfer, according to reports. The Reds have an agreement in place.
This comes from O Jogo in Portugal. They claim that Liverpool are now the priority side for Enzo Fernández, who could leave Benfica in 2023.
Enzo is in high demand after a fantastic World Cup campaign. He won the Young Player of the Tournament award, as well as the trophy itself, after shining consistently for Argentina.
The highlight came in the final where Enzo was extraordinary. Now it’s expected that several major sides will try to sign him from Benfica – a club he only joined in the summer.

The report mentions that clubs from Spain, England, Italy and France all want him. We can probably guess the French one, while Real Madrid have been previously linked, too.
But it’s Liverpool who apparently have ‘priority’ here. They’ve struck an agreement with his agent already, meaning they need only agree a fee with Benfica and Enzo is theirs.
Liverpool the priority for Enzo Fernández transfer
Joe Cole labelled Enzo ‘perfect’ during the World Cup and that’s certainly the impression he gave off. Here’s a 21-year-old midfielder who can seemingly do everything. He can tackle, pass, press, and even score goals.
And he can do it all at the absolute highest level.
So it’s not a shock that Benfica don’t particularly want to sell. In fact, they’ll reject all offers that fall short of his release clause in January and that clause sits at £103m.

But Enzo may have just shown that he’s worth that. The Argentina star not only offers incredible potential but he’s already capable of competing with anyone. If that’s not worth £100m, what is?
Liverpool have a big decision to make, then. Enzo would be a superstar signing and one of the most exciting possible deals the Reds could make. But so would Jude Bellingham. We can’t imagine they can afford both.
But we’re happy to dream until that’s confirmed.
