Andy Robertson laughs after what Darwin Nunez did to him in Liverpool training yesterday

Andy Robertson saw the funny side as Darwin Nunez stitched him up during Liverpool training yesterday.

As seen on LFCTV’s Inside Training series, the Reds were hard at it in Dubai, with their regular ‘rondo’ passing drills well underway.

The drills require players to ping the ball around a circle at speed whilst keeping it away from the two defenders in the middle. But unfortunately for Robertson, Darwin didn’t get the memo.

Instead, the Uruguayan forward played three passes in a row with his teammate, as he was closed down by Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Stefan Bajcetic.

With nowhere to go, Robbo was forced into a pass that was easily cut out. This was much to the delight of Nunez, who turned away from the scene chuckling mischeviously.

Ever the joker, Robertson saw the funny side too. “Anywhere will do Darwin!” the Scot laughed.

Darwin looking happy to be back

It’s nice to see Darwin starting to show a bit of his personality amongst the group. Although his English is still minimal, James Milner has stated that the 23-year-old is already a bit of a joker.

In a squad that contains Robertson as well as the ever-lively Kostas Tsimikas, Darwin has some competition in that department.

Regardless, on this evidence, he’s rising to the challenge.

After crashing out so disappointingly from the World Cup earlier this month, Nunez could have returned to Liverpool feeling sorry for himself.

Instead, the forward looks happy to be back amongst his new teammates. As the rapport between them grows, hopefully this will lead to even more understanding on the pitch.

With Luis Diaz out for the next few months, Darwin may have to get used to playing on the left, with Robertson behind him. As long as he doesn’t start trying any of these cheeky tricks during games, it’s all good!
