Reported Liverpool transfer target Dusan Vlahovic has a real chance of leaving Juventus in the January window.
That’s according to journalist Ben Jacobs. Writing on Twitter, Jacobs claimed that as per information relayed to him, Juventus are willing to listen to offers for the striker next month.
He notes that ‘several top European clubs’ have been in touch with Vlahovic’s agent. Liverpool aren’t mentioned specifically in this, with Chelsea and PSG said to be the most interested parties. Arsenal are also mentioned as a potential destination.
Jacobs reports that prospective suitors had anticipated being able to snatch the 22-year-old next summer. However, Juventus’ potential off-field sanctions are now said to have changed the landscape.
Juve will also be without Champions League football in the New Year. This has reportedly helped them to make the decision to ‘cash in’ on Vlahovic, too.
Jacobs claims that despite these developments, there’s nothing ‘particularly advanced’ at this stage.
Vlahovic not a priority for Reds
If Vlahovic really is on the market, then it’s difficult to see why Liverpool would be all that interested.
He’s a really good player, no question of that. His goal record since the beginning of last season has been pretty spectacular and he’s still only twenty-two.

But really, Liverpool don’t need another big man up-front. Darwin Nunez is doing that job capably and is a little more mobile than Vlahovic.
Ironically though, it’s the presence of Nunez that has brought Liverpool’s name into the Vlahovic picture at all. At the start of this month, Calciomercatoweb claimed that having been disappointed with his new No.27, Jurgen Klopp was ready to take a run at the Serb.
That seemed like a reach two weeks ago, and it still does today. Still, it isn’t every day a player of such repute becomes available. It wasn’t even 12 months ago that Juventus moved heaven and earth to sign him from Fiorentina for £66m.
You’d think that the Old Lady would be looking for a similar figure to let him go. Too much for Liverpool who need to prioritise the midfield. Then again, if Juve are looking for a cash injection, I’m sure we can work something out for Federico Chiesa…
