Teenaged midfielder Stefan Bajcetic trained with the Liverpool first-team today ahead of Friday’s friendly against AC Milan.

The Reds have travelled to Dubai to begin preparations for the second half of the Premier League campaign with a warm-weather training camp.

Jurgen Klopp’s side are competing in the Dubai Super Cup, having lost their opening match 3-1 to Lyon.

The Merseyside outfit are now getting ready for the next instalment of the competition, with AC Milan their opponents on December 16.

Whilst all of the usual stars were included in the 33-man squad – the likes of Thiago, Mohamed Salah, Andy Robertson, Roberto Firmino and Harvey Elliott – Klopp also took a number of academy prospects out to Dubai.

One of those youngsters was Bajcetic, who has been pictured in the side’s first-team training today.

Bajcetic joined Liverpool in 2021, arriving from Celta Vigo in a deal worth £224,000.

Initially arriving as a centre-back, the 18-year-old has been transformed into a defensive midfielder by the club’s academy.

As a result, he has since drawn comparisons to Manchester City star Rodri. The countrymen are composed on the ball, very strong in the air, and they both read the game extremely well.

The U19 Spain international only made his debut for the U21’s during the 2021/22 campaign, for whom he has made 11 appearances.

Having impressed, he has already made five first-team appearances this season. The midfielder came off the bench in three of Liverpool’s Champions League group matches against Ajax and Napoli. Furthermore, he also made his Premier League debut against Bournemouth back in August, before playing the full 90 minutes against Derby County in the Carabao Cup.

At the rate Bajcetic is going, it is highly likely we see more regular cameos over the course of the season.

At just 18-years-old, his potential is extremely high, so it is fantastic that he is at the perfect club to develop for the future.
