Teenaged attacker Ben Doak trained with the Liverpool first team ahead of Sunday’s friendly against Lyon.

The Reds have travelled to Dubai to begin preparations for the second half of the campaign with a warm-weather training camp.

Jurgen Klopp’s side will compete in the Dubai Super Cup, with their clash against Lyon followed by AC Milan on December 16.

The Merseyside outfit have flown a 33-man squad out to rebuild match sharpness. This includes senior superstars Thiago, Mohamed Salah, Andy Robertson, Roberto Firmino, Harvey Elliott and the freshly fit Joel Matip and Luis Diaz.

Joining the first-team players, Doak made the plane, along with the likes of Bobby Clark, Melkamu Frauendorf and Layton Stewart, who were all involved in the Carabao Cup win over Derby last month.

The 17-year-old attacker has enjoyed a sensational start to life at the club since joining from Celtic over the summer. Doak made his first-team debut against the Rams as a 16-year-old. Shortly after, just a day after his birthday, he kept his place on Liverpool’s bench against Southampton in the Premier League.

This follows an incredibly impressive transition into the team’s youth sides. In 15 appearances for the Reds’ U18, U19 and U21 sides, Doak has bagged eight goals and six assists.

The Scotsman has also impressed playing for his nation, having demonstrated his electric pace on various occasions when accelerating through on goal.

Scotland U21’s head coach Scot Gemmill has lavished praise on the forward, having claimed his ‘potential is enormous’.

Training alongside the seniors out in Dubai, it seems Doak is enjoying his well-deserved opportunity.

Looking comfortable amongst the elders, the club have an exciting prospect on their hands.

As a result, teams will be lining up with prospective loan moves over the course of the season.
