England international and Liverpool target Bukayo Saka has sent Trent Alexander-Arnold a message following the Three Lions’ World Cup defeat to France last night.
Gareth Southgate’s side were level with just 15 minutes of normal time to go, as the two nations fought for a place in the semi-finals of the tournament out in Qatar.
Olivier Giroud put Les Bleus ahead with a strong header, before Mason Mount won a penalty just six minutes later.
Although he emphatically finished his first penalty of the game, captain Harry Kane put his second spot-kick over the bar.
With England knocked out of the competition, the players took to social media to share their disappointment.
Alexander-Arnold took to Instagram to post an image with Marcus Rashford, captioned: “We’ll be back”.
Flooding the comments, Reds target Saka responded with a single heart – illustrating the amazing camaraderie of the Three Lions squad.
According to The Mirror, Jurgen Klopp is a big fan of the winger. As a result, the Merseyside club have been interested in signing the 21-year-old since the summer.
Saka and Trent would be unbelievable down the right
Whilst Mohamed Salah currently runs the flank for Liverpool, he has also played down the middle in recent times.
If Klopp ever wants to bring in a right-sided winger to the club, Saka would thus be the perfect addition.
At such a young age, the attacker has already made 111 appearances in the Premier League. During this time, he has impressively bagged 21 goals and 22 assists – demonstrating his ability to finish and create chances in the final third.
Hailed by the Liverpool boss as ‘incredible’, Saka has also deeply impressed in an England shirt.
Having burst onto the scene at the Euros last year, the Arsenal man had an equally impressive campaign at the Qatar World Cup. Consequently, he earned serious plaudits from the media, including being lauded as ‘sensational’ by Anfield legend Jamie Carragher.
Whilst this is an unlikely addition, the prospect of Saka and Alexander-Arnold dominating the right flank is extremely exciting.
Therefore, if there appears to be a slight hint at a possible move, Liverpool fans will run with the idea – and this seems to be the case here.
