Report: Club now set to treble ‘incredible’ 21-year-old’s wage, amid claims Liverpool want to sign him

Arsenal are now set to treble Bukayo Saka’s wage, amid interest from Liverpool.

That’s according to The Mirror, who report the Gunners are closing in on a huge contract proposal for the 21-year-old, whose current deal runs until 2024.

Currently, the England international is thought to be on £70,000-a-week.

However, with the Reds’ interest, as well as Manchester City’s admiration, Mikel Arteta’s side are set to almost treble his wage towards a staggering £200,000-a-week.

The north London club are confident of coming to an agreement, despite the demand of some of Europe’s biggest clubs.

Jurgen Klopp is understood to be a big admirer of the winger, and Liverpool have been credited with an interest in the player since the summer window.

Saka set to be offered new Arsenal deal, amid Liverpool interest

Having scored twice for the Three Lions in the side’s opening game of the Word Cup, Saka’s stock is sure to rise whilst he’s out in Qatar.

Domestically, the youngster has played a major part in Arsenal’s rise to the top of the Premier League table.

In 14 top-flight appearances this season, the 21-year-old has bagged four goals and six assists.

Excluding Reiss Nelson who has played just 63 minutes of Premier League football, Saka ranks as the Gunners’ second-best player this term, with a 7.22 match rating average.

The attacker also averages the highest number of key passes per game, alongside being an absolute nuisance for full-backs to defend against with his electric pace and tricky footwork.

Hailed as an ‘incredible’ player by Klopp, it is no surprise to see Saka linked with an Anfield switch.

With the Merseyside outfit now looking to add young players for the future, the 21-year-old would be the perfect addition to the Liverpool squad.

Whether the club would match Arsenal’s mammoth offer awaits to be seen, but it is probably likely the youngster remains in north London.
