Alisson Becker and Son Heung-min shared a moment after Brazil smashed South Korea at the World Cup on Monday.
Brazil made it through to the World Cup quarter-finals on Monday as they hammered South Korea. The tournament favourites won 4-1 after running-up a four-goal lead before half-time.
They were fantastic here, looking absolutely unbeatable at times as they consistently found ways to move through their opponents. South Korea only made one meaningful first-half chance – and it was a long-range effort that Alisson Becker kept out in style.
Alisson did have to come to Brazil’s aid again in the second-half, most notably to thwart Son Heung-min who got through on goal. South Korea then finally beat the Liverpool goalkeeper with an emphatic strike to cut the lead to 4-1.
Just to show how dominant Brazil have been, that isn’t just the first goal Alisson has conceded in Qatar but the first saves he’s had to make. The Selecao have been remarkable.
Alisson and Son Heung-min
Heartbreak for South Korea, then, who simply came up against an unbelievable side. A team so good that if you somehow get the ball from them and somehow break past their defence, you’ve still got the world’s best goalkeeper waiting.

That’s something Son experienced first-hand. He worked a fine chance through on goal only for Alisson to save it with his shoulder.
And that may have been what the two spoke about after the game. Alisson and Son, a £22m signing for Premier League rivals Tottenham Hotspur, were seen embracing on the pitch.
It’s great to see as the two have enjoyed some incredible battles against one another over the years. Not just in Premier League games but a Champions League final, of course. Now they’ve competed in a World Cup knockout game – there isn’t much more for them to do.
It’s a shame for Son that this one ended as the rest nearly always do – with Alisson’s team winning.
