England manager Gareth Southgate was full of praise for Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson after the Three Lions cruised to a 3-0 victory over Senegal.
Taking to a post-match interview with ITV Sport, Southgate was gleeful with the 32-year-old’s performance in midfield.

“Our best opportunities came from winning the ball from them, and I thought Jude [Bellingham] and Hendo in particular were outstanding in that in that aspect of the game,” he said.
“Well, they’re both forward running, forward thinking midfield players.
“Hendo doesn’t get many for us, but I think he’s been outstanding.
“He’s such a leader; he knits the team together, around the camp he’s brilliant.
“I think his performances have been top-drawer for us.”
Southgate full of praise for Henderson
Alongside Reds target Bellingham in the middle of the park, Henderson looked excellent for the Three Lions last night.
The Liverpool skipper controlled the game with his consistent shape and covering runs, allowing the attack to flourish.
His leadership was once again paramount to England’s success, with constant communication working to the side’s advantage as they looked to create chances in front of goal.
The Henderson-Bellingham partnership looked equally as special, thriving off one another’s presence – with the guarantee the other player would mirror their actions.

Such dominance is a brilliant sign for Liverpool, who still remain firmly in the running to the 19-year-old’s signature.
If the skipper can guarantee these sorts of performances in a Reds shirt week-in and week-out, an Anfield move would surely be very appealing for the youngster.
Hopefully Bellingham will listen to Henderson’s advice, and ultimately end up on Merseyside this season. What an exceptional leader to learn from, as the teenager continues to perfect his craft.
