Liverpool have now made contact with the representatives of Fiorentina midfielder Sofyan Amrabat over a potential deal.

It is said the Morocco international dreams of playing in the Champions League. This is something the Merseyside club can offer, whilst the Serie A side can’t.

Fiorentina are concerned they might lose the midfielder. Currently he earns £1.55m a year in Italy, whereas Liverpool are willing to offer him £3m per year.

Although Sevilla and Tottenham have been linked with Amrabat, it is said that it’s Jurgen Klopp’s team who have made a move to land him.

These actions echo the expectation of Morocco’s national team head coach, who believes the defensive midfielder is likely to leave the Serie A outfit in January.

Speaking after his side’s fantastic World Cup victory over Belgium, Walid Regragui hailed praise on the player, claiming he’s likely to make the step-up to another team after the tournament has concluded.

“Trust me, Amrabat is a world-class player. He is a ‘key’ player in my plans,” he said.

“I expect him to move to one of the major European clubs after the World Cup.”

Off the back of a strong season in the Italian top-flight and an impressive run out for Morocco in Qatar, it isn’t a surprise to see the 26-year-old linked with a move elsewhere.

With the need to provide Fabinho with a quality rotation option in the defensive midfield position, Ambarat would certainly be a great addition to Klopp’s squad.
