Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson was captured telling a Real Madrid fan that Jude Bellingham can be ruled out as a potential signing.

As shared on Twitter by The Anfield Talk, the supporter sings the 19-year-old’s praises, claiming he is the best central midfielder in the world.

He then urges him, “Come to Real Madrid!”

In a swift response, Henderson interrupts with, “Not Madrid. Not Madrid. No, no, no.”

However, when another fan mentions joining Liverpool, the skipper responds, “Yes, yes, yes”.

This follows reports that the Reds have done more legwork than most in the race to secure the youngster’s signature. They join Los Blancos as the current frontrunners.

Henderson says Bellingham won’t be signing for Madrid

In what will be music to Jurgen Klopp’s ears, both Trent Alexander-Arnold and Henderson have often been pictured out and about with Bellingham whilst together in Qatar.

The England trio have struck up a strong friendship, and the Reds will be hoping to exploit this when it comes to negotiations over the summer.

After the Three Lions’ 3-0 win over Senegal yesterday, the Anfield skipper hailed praise on the Borussia Dortmund star. He claimed: “He’s only young, he’s only 19 and we just need to let him play football – but he is incredible, incredible”.

The 32-year-old would certainly love to have Bellingham on Merseyside, as would everyone else at the club.

However, Madrid have been a constant thorn in Liverpool’s pursuit. Carlo Ancelotti’s side are also extremely keen to land the teenager, with the two teams deemed the favourites – despite interest from other European heavyweights.

Although Henderson is just playing around, hopefully these sorts of jokes actually culminate with the 19-year-old signing for the Reds.

Otherwise, the whole of Merseyside will be left extremely disappointed.
