Liverpool will exploit the strong relationship Jordan Henderson has with transfer target Jude Bellingham when it comes to negotiations.
That’s according to CBS reporter Ben Jacobs, who claims the England pair have a ‘great friendship’.
The journalist says the Reds, alongside Real Madrid, are the current frontrunners in the race to sign the 19-year-old.
He believes Jurgen Klopp’s side have done more legwork than most, and that the club have a chance at securing the £130m transfer from Borussia Dortmund.
Liverpool to use Henderson to sign Bellingham
As negotiation tactics go, this appears to be a strong one from the Reds.
Whilst the Three Lions are competing out in Qatar, it isn’t out of the question that the skipper and Trent Alexander-Arnold are putting in a good word about the club.
The three England stars are often pictured hanging around with one another, so the idea of utilising these friendships will be a natural way of convincing Bellingham to make the Anfield switch.
As partnerships go on the pitch, the midfield pair looked extremely comfortable with one another as Gareth Southgate’s side cruised to a 3-0 win over Senegal last night.

If this is anything to go by, this could be a sign of things to come at Liverpool.
The club are clearly desperate to sign Bellingham, as are the entire fanbase.
Therefore, getting the captain on the recruitment team’s side will be a huge benefit when it comes to negotiations in the summer.
