AC Milan believe they can sign two players from Liverpool, according to reports. They’re crossing their fingers that the Reds let them.
This comes from Calciomercato.it. They understand that AC Milan have eyes on two Liverpool players whose contract expire in 2023.
Midfielders Naby Keita and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain are the pair. Both are yet to receive offers from the Reds for renewals and there’s a very good chance that those offers never come.
Liverpool want to reshape their midfield in 2023, after all. Losing both players would free up a considerable amount of the wage budget, potentially allowing a move for Jude Bellingham.
Milan would love Bellingham themselves but lack the financial power to make it happen. Instead, they believe Liverpool’s interest in the Borussia Dortmund star could allow them to sign both Keita and Oxlade-Chamberlain.
AC Milan could sign two Liverpool players
We do expect both players to leave Liverpool at the end of the season. Neither would have a place in the squad if the Reds pick up their preferred transfer targets and the extra wage space could be necessary.
Milan would be a pretty fantastic landing spot for the pair, too. We’d back Keita, in particular, to thrive in Italy where the game isn’t quite as physical as the Premier League. Oxlade-Chamberlain could thrive, too – but as with any move, it’s dependent on his injury record.

The Rossoneri did sign Divock Origi this way in 2022, of course. They waited for his contract to wind down and then took him to the San Siro. Though, he’s started incredibly slowly in Italy.
Keita, however, would be a fantastic signing for anyone. His potential remains huge, even if it seems incredibly unlikely that he realises it at Anfield. The lack of talk surrounding a new contract – and a feeling that he might not want one – certainly opens the door for a club like Milan to take advantage.
