Arsenal will hijack any bid Liverpool make to sign Ajax midfielder Mohammed Kudus, according to Ghanasoccernet.

As per the report, the Gunners are now interested in signing the Ghana international in the January window, following his incredible form at the World Cup.

It is said that they’re set to hijack any possible move, with strong interest coming from Liverpool and Manchester United.

Jurgen Klopp’s side sent scouts to Qatar to monitor Kudus, whilst Erik ten Hag wants to reunite with the player he managed in the Eredivisie.

According to 90min, the Merseyside club have been keeping a keen eye on the 22-year-old for a while now, and they could be set to make a £30m swoop over the winter.

Arsenal set to hijack Liverpool for Kudus

With Liverpool’s issues in the midfield, it is imperative the club sign someone like Kudus, tying them over until the summer when they can welcome a marquee signing.

The youngster has impressively demonstrated his talents on football’s biggest stage out in Qatar, and he has shown more than enough to convince the Anfield outfit that he can make a difference for the side going forward.

In an emphatic 3-2 win over South Korea, the Ghana international bagged twice from the midfield. When compared with the Reds’ players in the middle, an out-and-out goal scorer doesn’t spring to mind.

With Fabinho holding the fort in front of the defence, Thiago Alcantara is employed to create chances – spraying the ball about the pitch. This leaves the third midfielder to power forward, with a keen eye needed for goal.

However, Klopp doesn’t really have anyone like this. Therefore, Kudus could be the man to inject attacking threat back into Liverpool’s midfield. That’s if Arsenal don’t hijack the move first.
