Two alternatives who could make Liverpool forget about Jude Bellingham – RTK View

Here are two alternatives that could make Liverpool forget about Jude Bellingham. The Reds would need both, however.

It’s an open secret that Liverpool are desperate to sign Jude Bellingham in 2023. They’re not exactly alone in that – every major club wants him. Bellingham is, after all, the best young midfielder in Europe.

He carries extra weight for English sides, too, as a world-class homegrown talent. He’d make future squads easier to build, bring unbelievable quality and is still only 19. No wonder Borussia Dortmund reportedly want over £100m.

And that’s the thing. Bellingham will be massively expensive and could go for nearly double Liverpool’s transfer record. While we’d still like the Reds to go for him, similar is said at Real Madrid and Manchester City. There’s a chance that Jurgen Klopp won’t get his hands on Bellingham even if the club goes all-out.

No one player can offer a direct alternative, of course, but we do think Liverpool could find a pair of payers to replace Bellingham in their sights.

Liverpool need Jude Bellingham alternatives

The first is Enzo Fernández. He’s just made headlines with an outstanding World Cup goal but that’s merely his latest burst of quality. The Argentine has been lighting it up for Benfica ever since joining them at the start of the year.

Record claims Liverpool are looking at Fernández and he’s a player we’d love to see at the club. He’s versatile, full of energy and ticks every box you’d want in a Klopp midfielder. As for his price, no one yet knows. It’s unlikely he moves in January, however.

The other player we’d love to see Liverpool move for is Declan Rice. Journalist Matt Law recently told the London Is Blue Podcast that West Ham United will sell for around £70m next year, and there will be a fight for him.

We’ve long seen Rice as the right player for Liverpool. He’s a brilliant midfield presence but has the quality to get forward, too. We think Klopp could use him as an alternative to Fabinho or alongside him in a midfield two. Under Klopp, Rice could become a truly world-class player.

On their own, neither player is as good as Bellingham. We do think that they’d provide a brilliant alternative together, though, especially if they developed the way others have at Anfield. Liverpool do have options this summer, even if their no.1 priority is clear.
