Liverpool now know the fee they must pay to sign Enzo Fernández in January, according to reports. Benfica set their price.
This comes from Abola in Portugal. They claim that Benfica will not negotiate with teams for Enzo Fernández in January. As they see it, the World Cup star is not for sale.
However, that doesn’t actually rule anything out. Fernández has a release clause of around £103m, meaning that’s his price if any team wants him in January. A steep one, then.
Liverpool are reportedly one team that does want to sign Fernández. Record claim as much, saying that Manchester United planned on getting him in January. Or at the very least, they wanted to force a fight for him before other teams were prepared to.
That may have changed, though. Cristiano Ronaldo’s shock exit pushes their focus towards a striker this winter, potentially opening the door for someone else. Benfica have done all they can to shut that door – and it’ll take a lot to open it again.
Liverpool know fee for Enzo Fernández
We imagine that rules out any chance of Liverpool signing Fernández in January. He’s a fantastic player but £103 is a massive price for him. It’s one Benfica will likely hold onto, as well, given the price Darwin Nunez went for in the summer.

Is Fernández worth that kind of record-breaking money? Well, his goal for Argentina against Mexico certainly drew more eyes towards him. Joe Cole called him ‘perfect’ for his country recently – and the 21-year-old looks like he could be perfect for Liverpool.
We’d love to see him at Anfield, if only as an alternative to Jude Bellingham. £103m likely rules out a January transfer but we hope to see Liverpool in the fight this summer.
Fernández is a special talent and on set to be a star.
