Reds captain Jordan Henderson was left very impressed by the performance of reported Liverpool target Christian Pulisic during the Three Lions’ 0-0 draw against the United States.

Taking to an interview on the Lions’ Den series on England’s official YouTube channel, the 32-year-old was full of praise for the American attacker and how he caused Gareth Southgate’s side problems.

“I thought all of them as a team were really well organised,” Henderson said.

“They have quick wingers to counter-attack.

“Pulisic played well. We know him from the Premier League.

“But I thought their midfield was good. They are very athletic and solid.

“Plus, the defence was organised. A good performance right through the team.”

The United States international is nearing the final 18 months of his contract at Stamford Bridge and with no news of a renewal, Premier League teams are keeping a close eye on the situation.

According to a recent report from the Daily Mail, Liverpool are admirers of Pulisic. They claim Chelsea are considering cashing-in on the attacker in January, and it is thought they would demand £35m to land his services.

Henderson praises Liverpool-linked Pulisic

Having arrived in west London from Borussia Dortmund in a deal worth £58m, Pulisic hasn’t enjoyed the career he would have hoped for when making the Premier League switch.

He has started just three games in the English top-flight this season, and it doesn’t seem his lack of minutes is going to change anytime soon under manager Graham Potter.

However, the 24-year-old is in seemingly great form, having impressed whilst out in Qatar.

Pulisic assisted his country’s only goal of the tournament thus far in the 1-1 draw against Wales, whilst he also came away with the player of the match award against England.

Jurgen Klopp has always been a big fan of the American. Having coached him whilst they were both at Dortmund, rumours have always emerged involving an Anfield switch.

The German could get the winger firing back to his best, and with Liverpool needing fresh reinforcements going forward, this could be a good signing for both parties.
