BBC presenter Gary Lineker was blown away by Germany international and Liverpool target Jamal Musiala during Die Mannschaft’s shocking 2-1 loss to Japan yesterday.
Although Hansi Flick’s side fell to an unexpected defeat in their opening game of the tournament, the pundit took to Twitter to show his admiration for the 19-year-old’s performance.
Much to the Three Lions’ dismay, the Bayern Munich starlet actually represented England at various youth levels, before committing to the German national team, having spent the majority of his childhood in London.
Having played alongside Jude Bellingham in England’s U21’s side, Musiala left Chelsea’s academy back in 2019 for the Bundesliga giants, before later declaring for the national team.

According to Sky Sports reporter Florian Plettenberg, the Reds are interested in signing the attacking midfielder, but Bayern are reluctant to sanction a sale.
Lineker praises Liverpool-linked Musiala
Although he is Bayern’s most-prized asset, it is still nice to dream of the prospect of an Anfield switch for Musiala.
At just 19-years-old, he has already emerged as one of the most exciting attacking players in world football.
Despite his thin stature, the youngster is incredibly hard to win possession off. His dazzling footwork and creative flair mean he is unbelievably skilled when dribbling with the ball.
When combined with his immense vision, the German is able to exploit space other players would not have spotted.

With such a brilliant football IQ, Musiala is an exciting prospect for Jurgen Klopp – who is a keen admirer of technically-sound youngsters.
Having become a mainstay in the Germany national team, the teenager’s potential is somewhat frightening.
He would be a sensational signing for Liverpool. Not only for his talents, but also for the unlikeliness of it actually happening.
Why would Bayern agree to sell their best young player?
