Andy Robertson posts three-word reaction after 19-year-old Liverpool youngster makes his international debut

Liverpool defender Andy Robertson has shared his reaction to Reds teammate Calvin Ramsay making his debut for the Scotland national team.

The 19-year-old was selected as part of Steve Clarke’s squad for the country’s last international friendly of the year against Turkey last night.

Coming on at half-time, the former Aberdeen star made his debut alongside Robertson, Scotland’s skipper, as the side fell to a 2-1 defeat at the Diyarbakir Stadyumu.

Taking to Instagram, Ramsay posted about how he was delighted to make his international debut and how much he enjoyed the entire experience.

As Scotland captain, Robertson took to the comments to share his praise for the youngster.

“Love it son,” he wrote, adding a hailing-hands emoji alongside a Scottish flag.

Ramsay could become Robertson’s heir

As a full-back, Ramsay is incredibly lucky to have a positional teammate at his club, who is also his captain for their national side.

Although Trent Alexander-Arnold is the right-back ahead of the Scotsman in the Anfield pecking order, the youngster is showing parallels to the Liverpool left-back.

To date, Robertson has amassed 240 appearances in a Reds shirt and 59 caps for his country. With this wealth of experience, Ramsay is sure to pick his brain when it comes to tactics, playstyles and general advice.

With Liverpool’s England international occasionally out of form at right-back this season, we could end up seeing the Scottish duo running the flanks together at Anfield.

At just 19-years-old, Ramsay is still a little away from fully challenging Alexander-Arnold for his place in the first-team. However, with a number of exemplary performances under his belt this season, there is no reason as to why we won’t see him get more minutes over the coming months.

With Robertson around, the teenager has the perfect role model he needs to help him succeed for years to come on Merseyside.
