Liverpool’s Andy Robertson has come in for some light criticism, after an unconvincing display for Scotland last night.
The Reds left-back played 90 minutes for his country as they fell to a 2-1 loss against Turkey. And as per the Daily Record, Robertson didn’t have his best evening.
Rating him as a six out of 10, the Record claim that Robertson ‘struggled to make an impact’ in an attacking sense. He’s also noted to have been ‘caught up the park’ for Turkey’s winning goal.
It wasn’t all bad, though. The Liverpool man is said to have kept Roma right-back Zeki Celic ‘in check’ defensively.
Calvin Ramsay is also rated, having come off the bench at half-time for his Scotland debut. The Record don’t go easy on the young man though, giving him a five out of ten. However, he is praised for some ‘nice touches.’ Well done on the first of many caps, Calvin.

Robertson was keen to put a brave face on the scheduling of this game as he talked up Calvin Ramsay yesterday.
But in truth, it’s a game that everyone could have done without really. No doubt Ramsay won’t see it that way after a special night for him, but his first cap was only a matter of time away regardless.
For Robertson too, it’s always special to captain his country. The 28-year-old has also played a wee bit less this season, so should be a little fresher.
Nevertheless, it will have only heightened the disappointment of missing out on the World Cup for the Scots. As the Liverpool pair’s teammate’s head off to play in the biggest tournament in sport, they’re left to make do with a needless friendly.
The risk of injury is also an ever-present one. Ramsay in particular has been struggling to get fit this season. Having only just seen him return to action, Jurgen Klopp must have been a little nervous last night.
Klopp recently revealed that he always asks his international players to text him after they’ve played with a fitness update. It looks as though after last night match, Liverpool’s Scots are both in the clear.
Now, they’ll head off on a little break before the Reds fly to Dubai in early December. With internationals out of the way for a while, the focus will be on a better second half of the season for Liverpool.
