Andy Robertson says Divock Origi managed to get a new kind of fine introduced at Liverpool. Only one player has triggered it since.
Andy Robertson gave an interview for Pitch Side this week where he discussed plenty of Liverpool matters. That included picking his Reds’ 5-a-side team, with a surprise inclusion.
The Scot also discussed how fines work at Liverpool. James Milner is in charge of keeping tabs on them and they all sound pretty basic – don’t turn up late, no phones during lunch etc.
But one had to be introduced after Divock Origi forgot his passport. Robertson explained how the Belgian made such a mistake that Liverpool added it to their list of fines.
“Forgetting your passport,” said Robertson. “That’s a big one because there were a couple of players – and I won’t mention Divock Origi’s name – but a couple of years ago, he left, and the plane got delayed by about an hour as he went to get it. So after that, we ended up putting a fine in.
“But I think there’s only been one since then. No [I won’t throw him under the bus], he’s not at this club anymore. Sadio Mané.”
Divock Origi causes a new fine at Liverpool
From scoring legendary goals to beat Barcelona, to a Champions League final strike, to leaving a new fine for all future players to worry about; Origi’s legacy at Liverpool is up there with the best.

This is a sensible fine, of course and we can’t imagine the stick Origi got after causing the plane delay for an hour. Though, admittedly, we’re a little surprise it doesn’t happen more often. There’s a group of 40-odd getting on each plane – you’d think one of them would make the mistake every time.
Though, we’re grateful as those who break the rule apparently end up being sold.
