Liverpool could now sign Red Bull Salzburg forward Noah Okafor in January, according to Sky Sports journalist Florian Plettenberg.
Alongside the Reds, the 22-year-old has caught the attention of Manchester City and AC Milan. Manchester United, who have previously been linked with the youngster, are now thought to be out of the race.

Plettenberg reports a potential transfer is possible for the winter window. He claims the player is open to leaving the club in January, and that Salzburg are open to letting him go.
“A winter transfer is possible. Player is open to leave Salzburg in winter and RB is open to let him go,” he said.
The Sky Sports journalist also reports that a fee in the region of £30-£35m has been set.
Liverpool could sign Okafor in January
Having joined from FC Basel in 2020, Okafor has really burst onto the scene this season.
The 22-year-old has scored seven goals in 14 Austrian Bundesliga games this term, also bagging an extra three in six Champions League appearances.
Even as a deep-lying centre-forward, the Switzerland international still manages to rank in the top 20 percent for non-penalty goals scored by attackers.
Although some might argue Liverpool’s last arrival from Salzburg didn’t completely work out, that being Takumi Minamino, Okafor has already shown he can perform at the highest level.

The forward bagged in each of his first three Champions League games this season, coming up against the likes of Thiago Silva for Chelsea and Fikayo Tomori for AC Milan.
Previously hailed as a ‘magnificent’ player by Switzerland U21’s boss Mauro Lustrinelli, it will be interesting to see how the youngster performs for his country at the World Cup next week.
With Liverpool seemingly interested in a winter swoop, it can be assured the whole Reds fanbase will keep their eyes firmly on the 22-year-old throughout the competition.
