Borussia Dortmund are increasingly confident they can keep prized possession Jude Bellingham at the club beyond this season, according to 90min.

The 19-year-old may be the most in-demand player in world football right now.

Having impressed in the Championship with Birmingham City as a 16-year-old, the England international has continued to improve each and every year whilst at BVB.

Expected to play a huge part in the Three Lions’ upcoming World Cup campaign, the vast majority of big clubs across Europe will be keeping a close eye on his performances.

For years now, Liverpool have been touted as one of the favourites to secure his services next summer. The likes of Manchester City, Manchester United and Real Madrid have all been linked with a move, but it has been the Reds who have held the most consistent interest.

However, according to a fresh report by 90min, Dortmund are increasingly confident of keeping Bellingham beyond next summer.

It is claimed the youngster is not determined to leave the Bundesliga giant just yet, and his chances of remaining with the Black and Yellow are good.

Bellingham could stay at Dortmund

To the contrary, as per a report from ESPN last Friday, the Reds are ‘closing in’ on the teenager.

Other outlets have also reported Merseyside as his most likely destination, but a number of others have rivals in the lead.

The Daily Mail recently claimed Man City have held talks with the 19-year-old and are now the favourites to secure his signature.

Elsewhere, FourFourTwo say the midfielder has chosen Madrid as his next club – so, in reality, the situation remains unclear.

However, news of Dortmund retaining his services will come as a major shock.

The youngster is under contract until the summer of 2025. This means by the time the season has concluded, he will only have two-years left on his deal.

Therefore, it would be surprising to see the German outfit fail to cash-in on the player whilst he is at his peak value.

Otherwise, the closer it is to his contract expiry, the lower the fee they will be able to demand for the teenager – who has been described as ‘superb’ by BBC journalist Simon Stone.

Consequently, it is still extremely possible Bellingham moves elsewhere next summer – and hopefully it is to Liverpool.
