Alan Shearer has been blown away by the potential of reported Liverpool transfer target Jude Bellingham.
Bellingham has long been on the top of Liverpool’s shortlist for next summer. And looking ahead to his role for England at the upcoming World Cup, Shearer waxed lyrical about the 19-year-old.
“In Jude Bellingham, we [England] have a superstar in the making with the potential to set the world alight, so in those regards, it feels exciting,” the Premier League’s all-time top scorer told The Athletic.
Some would argue that Shearer could comfortably drop the ‘in the making.’ Bellingham is already a superstar.
Hopefully one that will be rocking up at Liverpool over the next months.

Liverpool leading the race for Bellingham
Over the last week or so, Liverpool appear to have ramped up their efforts to bring Bellingham to Anfield.
As per a report from ESPN last Friday, the Reds are ‘closing in’ on the teenager. This was corroborated last night by Sky Sports Germany reporter Florian Plettenburg.
Reports in Spain have also suggested that Liverpool’s determination to land Bellingham is worrying Real Madrid.
This is all positive news for Reds fans. Nothing is done yet, obviously, but it looks as though the England midfielder is leaning towards a move to Merseyside.

Armed with that news, Liverpool supporters will be watching him closely during the World Cup.
They could have less players than usual to keep an eye on. After the news broke yesterday that Roberto Firmino had missed out on the Brazil squad, there could be as little as four or five Liverpool players in Qatar.
As a result, plenty will have eyes for Bellingham during England’s campaign. Although they have to be careful not to get ahead of themselves – he isn’t a Liverpool player yet – it’s certainly exciting times on that front.
