Liverpool are still interested in signing Juventus’ Brazilian centre back Gleison Bremer.
That’s according to Calciomercatoweb. They claim that Bremer ‘teases the imagination’ of Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp.
As a result of a need to breathe ‘new life’ into his squad, and his defence in particular, it’s claimed that Klopp is turning to Bremer.
Liverpool were heavily linked with a move for the then Torino player last summer. In the end, the 25-year-old stayed in Turin, joining Juve for around £35m.
And now, less than four months on, Liverpool are said to be trailing him again. It won’t be an easy deal to do, though. Juve reportedly want to keep the Brazil international, and would ask for £57m or so to sell him on.

Liverpool still hoping to land Bremer
Had Liverpool lost Joe Gomez last summer, they would have been on the hunt for a new centre back, no doubt.
That never happened though. Gomez ended up signing a contract extension at Anfield and has played quite a lot of football already this season.
But unfortunately for the England man, he hasn’t always impressed in that time on the pitch. As a result, Liverpool and Klopp may have to reassess their needs in the market.
With Virgil Van Dijk and Joel Matip now the wrong side of thirty, they need a longer-term partner for the excellent Ibrahima Konate.

Although he’s a little older than Konate, Bremer could still be that option. He’s now playing top-level football for the first time in his career and was yesterday named in Tite’s squad for the upcoming World Cup.
After winning Serie A’s coveted Defender of the Year award for Torino last season, it has been rapid rise for Bremer.
His former president at Torino – Urbano Cairo – called him ‘extraordinary’ via LA7 during the summer, and he genuinely is.
It hasn’t gone completely to plan at Juve, but that isn’t Bremer’s doing at all. Perhaps if he gets the chance to show off his quality in Qatar, Liverpool’s interest will intensify.
