Trent Alexander-Arnold has claimed that the level of intensity during Liverpool’s match with Manchester City this season was ‘ridiculous.’
Alexander-Arnold began the game from the bench having been injured against Arsenal the week before. And speaking on his We Go Again series with Red Bull, Trent shared how it felt to watch the game.
“I was watching that game and obviously I was thinking, ‘I wish I was playing in it’. But watching it was crazy,” he said. “I think that’s the only live game I’ve watched where I’ve thought, ‘Wow, the intensity in that game is ridiculous. On TV it doesn’t really do it that much justice.”
It was a big win for Liverpool, and one that they desperately needed. Who knows where they would be had they succumbed to defeat against City.

Liverpool need to find City intensity every week
Last month’s win over City was the high point of the season so far. The level of intensity was ridiculous. Unfortunately, it looks desperately unlikely to have any kind of effect on the league table this season.
With just 12 and 13 games played respectively, Liverpool trail the Champions by 16 points. Pep Guardiola’s side already have double the points of Jurgen Klopp’s.
As frustrating as that is for Reds fans, the win over City at least showed that this team still have that quality left in them.
It could turn out that they’re the only ones to beat the Manchester club this season. Such is their relentlessness; no other team looks able to match them.

That a Liverpool who have lost to Nottingham Forest and Leeds United could do it, shows that they’re not a million miles away. When needs be, they can rise to the occasion.
They’ll have to do so again tomorrow, as they head to London to take on Tottenham.
Currently bogged down in the tightness of mid-table, Liverpool badly need to start getting points on the board.
Bring the same intensity as they showed against City, and they’ll have a chance tomorrow. Play any other way, and they’ll surely be beaten.
