Borussia Dortmund have set a new asking price for Jude Bellingham, according to reports. Liverpool want the midfielder.

This comes from Bild. They claim that Borussia Dortmund have set a new asking price for Jude Bellingham after his incredible form this season.

That price stands at €150m or just shy of £130m. It’s a price that reflect Bellingham’s status as not just the most promising young midfielder in Europe but as one of the best in the world this season – at any age.

Dortmund set this price as clubs lineup to sign Bellingham. The report names Real Madrid, Manchester City, Chelsea and Liverpool as interested – interest that will likely grow post-World Cup.

After all, Bellingham will be there with England. A fine performance will drive up a desire to sign him, especially with the January transfer window shortly afterwards. Bild do ask the question about a potential winter transfer.

It’s unclear how like that is. £130m would likely tempt Dortmund, though.

Interest in Bellingham will be enormous. Pep Guardiola was talking him up last week, saying he’s the ‘whole package’ and a ‘special’ player. City will at least have a look, even if it asks questions about Financial Fairplay.

Liverpool, though, may ask more than anyone. After all, their midfield is falling apart and Bellingham would be the best possible signing to fix things. They’re in desperate need of new quality in the middle – both to improve the standards and bring someone playing their best football.

Bellingham ticks every box, essentially. £130m is the going rate for such a player and all eyes will be on the Reds to see exactly what they do. A January move would be an enormous statement, as unlikely as it is.

Getting £130m together is only the start, though. Convincing Bellingham to move to Anfield as their form falls to pieces won’t be simple.
