Ibrahima Konate is back in training for Liverpool ahead of their Champions League game against Ajax tomorrow.
As per Liverpool FC on YouTube, the squad could be seen going through their pre-match preparations. And there was plenty of good news for Liverpool fans.
Not only was Konate back at the AXA Training Centre, but Darwin Nunez was, too. The 23-year-old has been Liverpool’s best player in recent weeks and was sorely missed in Saturday’s defeat to Nottingham Forest.
Thankfully, both Konate and Nunez look like being available for the Reds in Holland. Naby Keita was also spotted as he looks to make his first appearance of the season.
Unfortunately, there was no sign of mercurial midfielder Thiago Alcantara as he recovers from an ear infection.

Good news and bad news for Liverpool
This is really good news for Liverpool as they look to keep a fully fit squad. As Diogo Jota and Luis Diaz’s long-term absences play havoc with the forward line, they could do with keeping everyone else available.
Konate was brilliant on his first appearance of the season two weeks ago against Rangers. It’s good to see that his subsequent knock was just something minor.
With Joe Gomez ‘making a mistake every week’ at the moment, the Frenchman’s return can’t come soon enough.
Okay, Gomez probably hasn’t been quite that bad, those were the words of ESPN’s Steve Nicol. It has to be said though, that the 25-year-old has let Liverpool down several times already this season.

Off the back of his Man of the Match display against Manchester City, the poor showing against Nottingham Forest was a bit of a suprise.
But having also given away a penalty against West Ham in midweek, the City performance feels like an anamoly.
That should be enough for the ‘fantastic’ Konate to reinstate his place next to Virgil Van Dijk in the Liverpool defence.
As for Nunez, he’s quickly become indispensable to Liverpool following his attacking colleague’s injuries. No Thiago is a big blow, but the return of two big players is a real positive.
