Calvin Ramsay continued his comeback from injury by playing 45 minutes for Liverpool U21s this afternoon.
As per liverpoolfc.com, Ramsay began the 2-1 mini derby win against Everton, coming off at half-time.
Meanwhile, the senior side toiled to a dismal 1-0 loss against bottom of the table Nottingham Forest. With Trent Alexander-Arnold rested at the City Ground, James Milner filled in at right-back once again.
To be fair to the Milner, he did a decent job in the position again. But the move was symptomatic of the lack of depth that Liverpool seem to be struggling with currently.
They need to get Ramsay involved as quickly as possible, if only to give things a fresher look.

Ramsay knocking on the door
It has been a frustrating beginning to life at Anfield for Ramsay. In that respect, his feelings mirror the mood around the club as a whole right now.
Things just haven’t got going for either the young right-back or his new club in 2022/23.
But there are finally some shoots of hope that Ramsay is almost ready to see some first-team action. He made his first ever appearance for any Liverpool team earlier in the week, scoring a nice, left-footed finish in the Papa John’s Trophy.
Following that up with more minutes under his belt today, Jurgen Klopp will surely be asking the question of when he can join the senior squad.

Klopp is a big fan of Ramsay, he’s made that very clear so far this season.
“Everything we heard about him was that he is a fantastic boy. And what a player he is – what he did for Aberdeen last year, absolutely exceptional,” the manager said via BBC Sport.
“In his age group and you know the things we need from a full-back, he is as close as it gets to the things we want and is still a kid. So, we really expect a lot from him in the long term.”
It would obviously be wrong to expect too much too soon from the 19-year-old. But on the other hand, Liverpool are in desperate need of some natural cover for Trent. If Milner’s minutes are anything to go by, Ramsay will get chances this season. The first of those really can’t come soon enough.
