Liverpool are trying to sign Konrad Laimer on a free transfer, according to Christian Falk. The Reds already know his agents.
Christian Falk claims Liverpool have made contact with Konrad Laimer‘s agents. The RB Leipzig midfielder’s contract expires at the end of the season, meaning clubs could sign him for free.
Liverpool would be able to formally make an offer from January 1st, too. They’re not the only one involved, however, as Chelsea want the player. Bayern Munich, somewhat unsurprisingly, lead the chase.
But the Reds do hold an advantage of sorts. Laimer shares agents with Naby Keita, meaning Liverpool have already dealt with the group. It’s something that certainly makes the whole process a little bit smoother.

Talk around Laimer continues to grow, then. Bild reported Chelsea’s interest just last week, also naming Liverpool as an interested party.
It’s worth mentioning, too, that Liverpool supposedly tried to sign Laimer right at the end of the transfer window. Leipzig weren’t willing to sell, however, says the Athletic.
And so Liverpool turn their attention to a transfer in 2023. We imagine there’s half a chance of a January deal, given Leipzig otherwise lose Laimer for free. Striking a cut-price transfer could benefit them – it all depends on how much they value the extra cash.
In all likelihood, though, Laimer himself holds out for a free transfer. Getting a player this good without a fee is worth paying him extra wages – and that will certainly be Bayern’s plan.
Liverpool, though, should do everything they can here. Their midfield is set for a major overhaul next year and Laimer is a near-perfect addition. We have him down as arguably the best pressing-midfielder in Europe right now.
It’s not difficult to figure out why the Reds might like that. And if they can get Laimer on a free transfer, we could be looking at outstanding business.
