‘They’ll be out’: Liverpool must hear journalist’s Man United warning in race for ‘sensational’ player

Liverpool received a warning in their pursuit of Jude Bellingham this week. One journalist suggests they’ll need to turn their form around.

Jude Bellingham will dominate next summer, it seems, as clubs line up to sign him. The 19-year-old might be the most in-demand player on the planet right now – everyone is linked with him

Liverpool are one of those, of course, as is half of Europe. Journalist Ben Jacobs recently talked on that, claiming that the Reds lead the race as a Premier League club. As it stands, Real Madrid are their rivals for Bellingham.

But there could be a problem. Jacobs, talking about Manchester United’s interest, believes Bellingham will only move to a club that’s in the Champions League next season.

“Bellingham wants instant Champions League football,” said Jacobs on the Football Terrace. “So where Manchester United are come January, as he starts to think about his decision, is important. Because if they’re 6th, 7th in the table and it’s not guaranteed, they’ll be out of the race.

“Assuming Bellingham moves in the summer, he will not move to a club that doesn’t give him Champions League football in the 23/24 season.”

Liverpool get Jude Bellingham warning

Liverpool are also in danger of finishing outside the top four. While there’s a long way to go, the Reds don’t have the guaranteed place they did last year.

This, after all, won’t be a season where they run away in the title race with Manchester City. Liverpool must turn their form around quickly and grab that top-four finish or, if Jacobs is correct, they risk missing out on Bellingham.

The teenager reminded everyone of his skills last night, with a Man of the Match display against Sevilla. Dortmund called him ‘simply sensational’ on their Twitter account – and anyone who watched would agree.

There’s a special player here and Liverpool must do all they can to get him.
