Liverpool transfer target Jude Bellingham reacted to his FIFA 23 card in a video for England’s YouTube channel this week. He wasn’t exactly happy.
FIFA 23 is out and that means we’ve got players reacting to their stats. Liverpool players gave that a go last week and now Jude Bellingham is airing his dissatisfaction in a video for the England team.
Bellingham and Phil Foden each took a trip down memory lane as they looked back on their previous FIFA cards. There weren’t exactly many, given Foden is the eldest at 22. Still, the two young England internationals have come a long way over the last few years.
Foden’s card is now up to 85-rated after a great year with Manchester City last time out. Bellingham has made a similar jump, from 79 to 84 after shining for Borussia Dortmund.
But he’s still not happy.
“But like, how can I get slower is what I’m saying!” Bellingham said on YouTube. “Like, I’m a growing boy, you get me? I should be getting faster, that’s the only thing I’m saying.
“The rest of it, I’m alright. Good picture, thank you. Pace? Come on. And then passing, a bit more generous. But the rest, thank you very much.
“The pace, it’s a bit embarrassing.”

Bellingham was particularly unhappy that his first ever card, rated 69, had him at 77 pace. Two years on, he’s now at 75 – a weird downgrade, given he’s almost certainly faster.
Players always tend to have a problem with their pace stats but with good reason. Half of them seem to have been pulled from a hat, while there’s an apparent belief at EA that no centre-backs are particularly fast.
Maybe Bellingham simply needs a major transfer to boost his reputation even further and get that pace rating up. Maybe even a bigger spotlight in the Premier League could show EA just how wrong they are about his pace.
