Jurgen Klopp addressed his Liverpool future this week after the Reds’ poor start to the season. There’s a little confusion around the club.
Just what is Jurgen Klopp‘s future like right now? The boss signed a new Liverpool contract earlier this year but things do appear to be falling apart.
The Reds can’t control games. They’re conceding with absolute ease at the moment and have really only dominated one or two games this season. It’s a stark contrast to last season – or any campaign outside of the injury-ridden 2020/21 season.
Klopp, though, isn’t wavering on Liverpool being the place for him. He talked to Sky Germany’s Florian Plettenberg about his future.
“I always knew that I would like to stay here,” said Klopp. “I‘m still at the right place here, 100 percent.
“And if not, then you have to end it. It would be silly not to. But everybody involved doesn’t see that.”

It’s not exactly a shock, no. Klopp only just signed his Liverpool contract, for one thing, but things aren’t anywhere near bad enough for a real consideration into his future.
After all, we’re only a couple of months into this season. There’s a lot of football to come and Liverpool could turn things around and comfortably finish in the top-four come May.
But it does feel as though the title is gone already. Liverpool are 10 points back on Manchester City and lack any kind of rhythm to mount a comeback. This season is quickly feeling like a transition year.
Klopp will likely be up for that, too. He’s not a manager who would shirk a rebuild and it’s something he’s good at. Maybe it means a year or two of figuring things out but we can’t imagine the boss steps away.
There’s no actual pressure on him, either. Klopp will stay and, hopefully, rebuild this team into another dominant one.
