Jurgen Klopp has praised what he’s seen so far from Liverpool youngster Calvin Ramsay in training.
Speaking in his pre-match press conference via Liverpool FC on YouTube, Klopp was asked about what he’s seen from the 19-year-old so far.
“An outstanding talent. We scouted a lot of games with Calvin and he did exceptionally well. For a young age and the way he plays, he’s a real player. He’s really involved in everything, a real talent. I was really excited; I am really excited about him,” said the Liverpool manager.
“Now we know much more about him as a boy. Outstanding, well educated, friendly, really confident, a really good boy. So now we start working. How it is for all of them in that age group, the sky is the limit.”

Ramsay finally ready to begin his Liverpool education
Having missed such a large chunk of the beginning of his Liverpool career, hopefully Ramsay can kick-on now.
There had been a real sense of excitement around his signing as a back-up to Trent Alexander-Arnold. The youngster had earned rave reviews whilst breaking through at Aberdeen.
Perhaps in a way it’s a good thing that expectations have had to be reined in. Without him being around the squad, some fans will have maybe even forgotten all about him.
Klopp certainly hasn’t though. The boss is clearly really looking forward to moulding Ramsay to fit into his plans.

There will no doubt be a learning experience as the teenager looks to mimic what Alexander-Arnold brings. But in Trent and countryman Andy Robertson, Ramsay has some brilliant role models to learn from.
For now, there’s no real rush to get him into the team. Alexander-Arnold hasn’t been brilliant recently but there’s an expectation that he’ll respond well to being dropped by England this week.
Joe Gomez has filled in well at right-back while James Milner continues to be a break-glass option for Klopp.
As a result, Ramsay should be given the time he needs to make sure he’s fully over his injury. It might be wise to expect the Carabao Cup third round against Derby on 9th November to be his debut. With Klopp’s words excitement may gear up again as Reds look forward to getting the first glimpse of their new man.
