Fabio Carvalho has insisted that Fabinho has the best haircut in the Liverpool squad, but some of his teammates disagree.

Carvalho joined Harvey Elliott for a game of ‘Honesty Cards’ for BBC Sport. Asked to name the Liverpool player with ‘the best trim’ the 19-year-old claimed that he’s ridiculed for what he says about Fabinho.

“I think it’s Fabinho, I’ve said that before. People keep laughing at me but I’m being serious!” said Carvalho, much to Elliott’s amusement.

Elliott disagreed though, naming Virgil Van Dijk as the player with the sharpest cut.

“I think Virgil’s got a nice one,” he said. “He has everything, ponytail, waves, shape up. I think he’s been blessed with a good head of hair.”

Darwin’s locks come under fire

Haircuts have been a big topic of discussion at Liverpool this week. Kostas Tsimikas returned from international duty with a new trim which Jurgen Klopp simply couldn’t understand.

Likening the Greek’s new style to ‘a shrunken Darwin Nunez,’ Klopp suggested that he takes control of Kostas’ next trim.

Unfortunately for Darwin, his slicked back locks are mentioned again in Elliott and Carvalho’s discussion. And it isn’t positive.

Elliott crowned the Uruguayan as the player with the worst haircut in the team.

“I hate to say this but because of the amount of stick I went through when I had it, Darwin. Because when I had my ponytail honestly it was like… I don’t even know,” said the 20-year-old.

Poor Darwin. In fairness to him, he doesn’t have the shaved back and sides that Elliott sported for a pretty long time to go with the pony. Never again please, Harvey.

Anyway, thank goodness Liverpool are finally back in action tomorrow. There’ll be some real football to talk about soon, promise!
