Everton player Andros Townsend hailed Reds target Jude Bellingham for his performance against Germany on Monday. England drew 3-3 on the night.
England pulled out a 3-3 draw with Germany on Monday night – a great result considering they went 2-0 down. Gareth Southgate’s side rallied to take the lead before Kai Havertz found his second and Germany’s third.
A mixed bag for England, then. One player who really did stand out was Jude Bellingham, playing against the country where he plays his football. BBC 5 Live highlighted just how good he was – leading his team is various ways.
They also included a quote from Everton winger Andros Townsend. The former England man was clearly impressed with what he saw.
“Such a special talent,” he said of Bellingham. “So brave on the ball, not afraid of the occasion.
“It’s been a pleasure to witness him in the flesh.”
Reds target Jude Bellingham
Bellingham is a target for Liverpool, of course, and it’s safe to say that Everton won’t want him heading to Anfield. Reports on Monday suggest he won’t be, though.
Marca report that Bellingham wants a move to Real Madrid, who are also desperate to land the youngster. His £130m release clause makes it very difficult for anyone to sign him, however.

That would be a huge shame, of course. Liverpool need a new talented midfielder as three of their senior options – James Milner, Naby Keita and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain – are out of contract in 2023. Jordan Henderson and Thiago are both showing inconsistencies with their injury records, too.
Thus Bellingham would be perfect and we’ve been huge advocates of his signing for some time. Not that we’re alone in that – any team that signs the England star is a fortunate one.
We’ll cross our fingers as he truly is a ‘special talent’ and one Liverpool could be proud of.
