Liverpool youngster Oakley Cannonier has earned his first call-up to England U19s.
As per englandfootball.com, the 18-year-old Liverpool striker has been included in Simon Rusk’s squad.
The call-up comes after a brilliant start to the season for Cannonier, which included a fantastic hat-trick on Tuesday afternoon against Ajax.
Cannonier is joined in the squad by fellow Liverpool youngsters Isaac Mabaya and Luke Chambers. Like Cannonier, Mabaya is also looking forward to his first involvement at this level. Congratulations, lads!

Cannonier gets reward for blistering form
Over the last 18 months or so, Oakley Cannonier has really blossomed in Liverpool’s underage teams.

From famously being the ball-boy for Liverpool’s 4-0 victory over Barcelona at Anfield, he now looks like having a really bright future.
The teenage striker scored 32 goals for the U18s in all competitions last season. Stepping up to the U21s this season, he has continued his good form.
Cannonier’s hat-trick on Tuesday takes his tally for the season to four goals in eight games. All of those have come in the UEFA Youth League, as he stands up well to tests from European sides.

As for Mabaya, he shone during Liverpool’s pre-season tour in Asia. Having likely been unknown to many Liverpool fans at that point, he displayed his talents to a wider audience.
Since then, he has been involved in the senior training set-up. His call-up to the U19s is the latest step in what is looking like a really promising season for the 17-year-old.
