Liverpool are interested in signing PSV Eindhoven midfielder Ibrahim Sangare.

That’s according to Calciomercato, who claim that The Reds ‘like’ the 24-year-old as an option in the transfer market.

Liverpool reportedly aren’t the only team tracking Sangare though. It’s claimed that fellow Premier League side West Ham United are also interested in the Ivorian.

AC Milan are said to be in the mix too, having followed Sangare throughout last summer.

Liverpool scouting Sangare

This isn’t the first time Sangare’s name has been mentioned in connection to Liverpool.

The Reds were said to be keen on the midfielder this summer, too. In fact, in May, Voetbal International claimed that Liverpool scouts had been watching Sangare with a view to a move.

In the same report, it’s suggested that the PSV man has a release clause of around £31m.

With Liverpool still on the lookout for new midfield additions, Sangare could represent a good option. £31m wouldn’t break the bank, and the player is obviously keen on the move.

He has European and international experience and still has room to develop as well.

As a central midfielder who can also operate in a deeper lying role, Sangare could provide well overdue cover for Fabinho.

Regardless of any interest, Liverpool will obviously have to now wait to pursue players any further. Arthur’s loan signing at the end of the summer window made the need for midfielders slightly less urgent.

But come January, they may try to get a value for money deal done. If Sangare can continue to do well for PSV, perhaps Liverpool will follow through with their initial interest.
