Young Liverpool forward Melkamu Frauendorf has been spotted in Liverpool training ahead of tomorrow’s trip to face Napoli.

As per Football Daily, Frauendorf could be seen being put through his paces with the Liverpool first-team.

Despite Frauendorf’s presence, it was far from a young Liverpool team out at the AXA Training Centre. Alongside the 18-year-old, the only other academy players were Isaac Mabaya and now regular Stefan Bajcetic.

Perhaps a sign that the young German is edging closer to being involved with the first-team.

As well as Frauendorf’s inclusion, there were a couple more bits of good news for Liverpool.

Most importantly, Thiago Alcantara was involved having missed the last four weeks with a hamstring injury. His return is of huge importance to Liverpool getting their season back on track.

Elsewhere, new signing Arthur Melo was also present, seen for the first time with his Liverpool teammates.

However, good news at the moment tends to be tempered with bad news for Liverpool. Unfortunately, Tuesday’s session gave more of that, too.

Neither Curtis Jones nor Fabio Carvalho appeared to join the group ahead of the game.

The absence of both is frustrating in different ways. Jones, because he can’t seem to get fit and kick-start a big season for himself. Carvalho because he was just starting to break into the starting XI. Hopefully neither are out for too long.

Aside from those two, long-term absentees Ibrahima Konate, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Naby Keita also missed the session. Jordan Henderson sat out too and looks set for a spell on the side-lines.

So, still a few issues for Jurgen Klopp. But by and large, Liverpool’s squad is now finally starting to resemble something approaching full-strength.
